# Jira

## Overview

Nullify can be configured to integrate with Jira to automatically create and update issues based on the findings in your project.

It can also be configured to automatically assign priorities to tickets based on the severity of the ticket, and assign tickets to users.

Nullify posts updates asynchronously so developers stay inside their existing workflows.

## Webhook sync

Jira issue updates synchronize linked ticket status and assignee information back to Nullify. Sync accounts for issue moves and stale/out-of-order events; allow a delivery/retry interval before assuming the dashboard is out of sync. Preserve the issue link when moving work between projects.

## Automation and delivery controls

[Manager ground rules](/configuration/configuration-manager.md) control allowed ticket, PR, and messaging actions. [Notification settings](/configuration/configuration-notifications.md) separately select event filters and destinations. Delivery budgets and deduplication can defer or combine repeated escalations, so a missing individual message does not mean the finding was discarded.
