# Compass

## Overview

Connect Nullify to [Atlassian Compass](https://www.atlassian.com/software/compass) to import your teams and the components they own (repositories, services, and other assets). Nullify uses this ownership model to route findings, fix pull requests, and escalations to the right team — so security work lands with the people who own the affected code.

Compass data syncs periodically in the background, and Nullify posts its updates asynchronously so developers stay inside their existing workflows.

## Ownership mapping

Install the [Compass app](/connectors/compass/install.md), then confirm the imported teams and repository ownership in [team settings](/configuration/account-and-teams.md). Compass/Atlassian teams are stored with an Atlassian identity even if your organization's ticket destination is another tool. Importing a team does not change the configured ticketing destination.

Repository URLs are resolved against repositories already known to Nullify. Connect and enroll a repository before expecting its Compass component ownership to apply. Unresolvable or malformed links are skipped; a successful team import does not prove every component link was mapped. Supported component links into a repository subdirectory become path-based ownership patterns for monorepos. Verify those patterns against the files the team owns.
